Vehicle Wraps: Why Your Company Needs Them

Vehicle wraps are a unique way to grab attention quickly and effectively. They can be a smart marketing investment, especially for local businesses.

One way to increase your company’s exposure is to take your business’s message on the road with vehicle graphics. This could be for your company car, delivery vehicle, or service fleet. Wrapping your vehicle is affordable and attention-grabbing; it’s a great way to leave a lasting impression to potential customers. So, is wrapping your vehicle or fleet right for your business?

Why use vehicle wraps?

Call attention to your message

According to Geopath, a provider of ratings for out-of-home advertising, one in four adults in the U.S. have noticed a mobile billboard in the last 30 days. Vehicle wraps are fantastic advertising, as they are flexible, reaching consumers when they’re on the road for business or parked.

Increase local visibility of your brand

When your wrapped vehicle is on the road, it gains new impressions every day. Most people won’t have a need for your service at that moment, but at some point they may. If they’ve received multiple impressions of your brand, which is the reason to invest in marketing, they’ll recall your brand when they’re ready to buy. Wrapped vehicles will help promote your business and drive new customer acquisition.

Achieve a professional image

According to a study by the Transportation Advertising Council of America (TACA), 75 percent of consumers form impressions about a company based on vehicle wraps or fleet graphics. In increasing your company’s visibility to maximize the impact of your marketing spend, vehicle graphics should play a key role.

Your message never sleeps

Working 24/7, vehicle wraps guarantee views and impressions whenever they are on the road or being parked. Relative to other advertising channels, vehicle wraps and graphics are less likely to be ignored and guarantee attention from passersby.

Look bigger than you are

Wrapped vehicles elevate the image of your business, no matter if your business is small- to medium-sized with a one to a few vehicles. Consumers may not know the size of your company, but a wrapped vehicle says to them that you own a fleet, which lends credibility.

It’s old-school advertising

In today’s never-ending world of digital everything, consumers find ways to eliminate advertising from their daily lives. However, when they’re on the road, they have no choice but to see your message.

Gets impressive impressions

According to a study performed by the American Trucking Association (ATA), a vehicle wrap on a typical trailer makes 10 million impressions every year. This number increases to 14 million for trailers with reflective graphics. Further, 16 million impressions are made with local delivery vans. Another study found vehicle graphics generate 101 impressions per mile.

Cut to the Cost

Vehicle graphics make a lot of impressions but you may be asking yourself–“What is the cost?”  The Outdoor Advertising Association of America states the cost per impression for vehicle wraps is $0.77. This is about one-third the cost of a billboard ($2.18), and a mere fraction of the cost of a radio ad ($8.61).

Add Color

For fleet graphics, use full color graphics and other colorful eye-catching photos, as opposed to white with a logo. Think big and vibrant to get your message out to the masses. Because a vehicle is always moving, you want a wrap that is bright and loud. This way, people can read it from far away, as well as while the vehicle is in motion. Vehicle wraps and fleet graphics are basically a billboard on wheels, so make sure the art you create is short and easy to read.

Consider Decals

Wraps aren’t the only way to brand a vehicle. Adding vinyl decals is a great and less expensive option. Decals are budget-friendly and will still deliver a pop and punch in your vehicle branding.

Virtually every business uses cars, vans, trucks, or other vehicles in their daily operations. Aside from the initial production and installation costs, yours can begin to benefit by serving as rent-free advertising space for your company’s products and services, as the vehicles are already owned and spend a significant portion of time on the road.
